ACADEMICS
Empowering Academic Scientists Worldwide
ASCEND screen’s the world’s library of biomedical literature so you don’t have to.
The Platform
PhD scientist-trained AI analyzes and surfaces comprehensive experiment evidence, so you spend less time searching through data and more time performing experiments with a higher chance of success.
The Value
Get your most promising projects off the ground with data-informed experiment design, including critical insights about antibody products.
Review Literature in Minutes, not Months
Review experimental evidence from over 16 million closed- and open-access publications, including journals from Springer Nature, Wiley, and Oxford University Press, preprint manuscripts, and independent validation from organizations such as The Human Protein Atlas and EuroMAbNet.
Reduce Uncertainty with Unbiased Data
Assemble your experiments based on unbiased, evidence-driven context from proven materials and methods.
Find the Right Antibody Faster
Our intuitive user interface helps you search by protein target and 20 other key filters, such as experiment application, antibody reactivity, experiment cell type, CloneID, or if an antibody has been validated.
Trusted by Leading Academic Institutions Worldwide
What Sets ASCEND’s Database Apart
Use the world’s first objective, evidence-based map of underlying biology, augmented by machine learning and trained by scientists.
Access data and insights from more than 16 million publications, over 30 million experiments, over 75 million reagents and model systems, and over 90 million scenarios of reagent and model system use.
Review internal datasets overlayed with experimental data to understand what has already been done.
Why is access free for academic scientists?
We don’t charge academic and nonprofit scientists to access the platform. We want as many scientists as possible to have access to our platform to increase the speed of scientific discovery. We’re able to support our business by charging for-profit companies for licenses that offer more advanced and custom features required in the industry setting.
Why do I need to register?
Not all of our data is in the public domain. While access is free for academic and nonprofit scientists, we can’t make all of the content accessible to the general public. Therefore, we need to validate that academic users are affiliated with an academic or nonprofit institution. We use your email address to do so.
What if I don’t have an institutional email?
If you don’t have an institutional email we’ll need to validate your affiliation with an academic or nonprofit organization. Please contact us at support@benchschi.com and provide your name, email, and the institution with which you’re affiliated. We’ll follow up with some options.
What if my institution isn’t recognized when I try to sign up?
We keep our database of academic and nonprofit institutions updated, but sometimes we miss one. Please reach out to support@benchsci.com with the name of your institution, and we’ll add it to our list. Once that’s done, you can then register.
Do I have to download/install anything?
Nope! The ASCEND platform is a web-based application that runs in your browser. Simply log in at app.benchsci.com
Which browsers are compatible with the ASCEND platform?
ASCEND works on most modern browsers, including Google Chrome (recommended), Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.
